Chinese Sesame Chicken Recipe

Description: There are two reasons why sesame chicken is an Oriental, Chinese and Asian recipe favorite. First, it is delicious. Second, it is very easy to make. Make Sesame Chicken for Chinese holidays, like Chinese New Years. And, make it all year long!

Ingredients:

• 2 Tbs peanut or vegetable oil
• 1 lb boneless chicken, white or dark meat
• 1 egg
• 2  Tbs cornstarch
• Sauce ingredients(below)
• 2 Tbs sesame seeds
• 2-3 cups cooked rice

Sauce Ingredients:

• 3 Tbs soy sauce
• 1 Tbs water
• 1/2 Tbs sesame oil
• 1 1/2 Tbs brown sugar
• 1 Tbs rice vinegar
• 1 tsp fresh ground ginger, minced
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 Tbs cornstarch

Directions:

1. Cut boneless chicken into one inch or bite sized pieces.

2. In a small bowl, mix together all sauce ingredients. Mix well, and set aside.

3. In another small bowl, beat egg and and cornstarch.

4. Heat peanut or vegetable oil in a wok.

5. Toss the chicken in the egg and cornstarch mixture.

6. Add chicken and egg mixture into the wok.

7. Cook chicken for 8-10 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

8. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken. Toss chicken to thoroughly coat it with sauce.

9. Remove from heat after the sauce thickens.

10. Serve sesame chicken over a bed of cooked rice.
